About the Project

This Music Bridges event was unique. Its sole aim was to highlight the power of cultural exchange through music - our very core - at the World Expo 2000 in Hanover, Germany. 40 writers and artists from over 25 countries - some from countries that were at the moment in bloody conflict with each other - proved that music is truly a bridge across any division. The result – a compilation album, an epic concert performance, and a documentary film. And maybe even more importantly, the friendships created between those in which it was said could not be friends.

“We’ve always said that our philosophy is ‘no border, one language.’ Now we got a chance to prove it.” - Rudolf Schenker (The Scorpions)
