Alan Roy Scott has a powerful vision: to unite a world community bonded by the creation of music. Alan and his team of creative professionals know how to transform the power and passion of his global ideas into stunning realities. Under the operating title Music Bridges, he has successfully traversed the globe spreading a doctrine of universal harmony.

Music Bridges is dedicated to the creation and development of international music collaboration projects and related special events that serve as a vital cultural link between nations and foster better understanding and growth of the global market that is further nurtured by such interactions

He fostered “Glasnost” by creating “Music Speaks Louder Than Words,” the historic 1988 summit of US and Soviet songwriters which included stateside reps Diane Warren, Brenda Russell, Cyndi Lauper, Michael Bolton, Desmond Child, Mike Stoller, Barry Mann, Billy Steinberg & Tom Kelly, & Holly Knight. “Country & Eastern” featured a collaboration of chart-topping “Country” songwriters like Gary Burr, Richard Leigh, Sonny Curtis, Gary Nicholson, & Angela Kaset paired up with their “Eastern” European counterparts from Romania, the Czech Republic, & Slovakia. “Pacific Harmony” was a musical songwriting junket to Indonesia with artists and writers from the islands as well as songwriters from China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, The Philippines and Australia joined by the likes of The Scorpions, Styx (Tommy Shaw), Gunnar and Matthew Nelson, Cathy Dennis, jazzmen Dave Koz, Jeff Lorber and hitsmith Allan Rich.

This was followed by “Celtic Harmony” featuring a collaboration between renowned artists & writers from both The Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland including Hot House Flowers,The Chieftans, Brian Kennedy, Eleanor McEvoy, Jimmy Mc Carthy, Andy White and Kieran Goss with their American and international counterparts like Lamont Dozier, Rodney Crowell, Faith Evans, The Go Go’s (Jane Wiedlin & Charlotte Caffey), Lloyd Cole, Better Than Ezra (Kevin Griffin), Delbert McClinton, Jill Sobule, & Arrested Development (Speech).

The most challenging and rewarding endeavor to date was Music Bridges…Over Troubled Waters. This event took place in Havana, Cuba bringing together over 90 American, European, and Cuban artists and songwriters. The stellar International roster included Burt Bacharach, R.E.M. (Peter Buck), Bonnie Raitt, actor Woody Harrelson, Joan Osborne, Jimmy Buffet, Stewart Copeland & Andy Summers (The Police), Mick Fleetwood, Gladys Knight, Don Was, Peter Frampton, Duncan Shiek, & Lisa Loeb. On the Cuban side were such luminaries as Chucho Valdes, Alberto Tosca, Carlos Varella, Yosvany Terry, and members of the bands Los Van Van, Sintesis, & NG La Banda.

Followed by Music Bridges/World Expo in Germany, which was unique in that it featured artist and writer participants from over 40 countries from 5 continents. Resulting in unexpected but wonderful creative combinations such as Israel/Lebanon/Ireland, and North Korea/South Korea to further illuminate the creative possibilities of music to resonate hope in ways that politics alone cannot .

Current plans include the most ambitious Music Bridges to date in the Middle East, designed to bring together equal delegations of International, Israeli, and Palestinian/Arab artists in three way collaborations under the Music Bridges banner and concept. With future gatherings envisioned for Africa, India, China, Peru, and Korea. And so the journey continues…
